Software Downloads

COPLAN for ADS/Libra is a coplanar design library within Agilent ADS/HP-EEsof SeriesIV (Libra). It  is therefore  necessary that ADS or Series IV is already installed and the environment variable $HPEESOF_DIR/$EESOF_DIR is set. For running the examples, please install COPLAN at first.

At the present, COPLAN for ADS supports ADS on following platforms

• SunOS>=5.6 or Solaris>=2.6
• HP_UX >= 10.20
• Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows 98

and COPLAN for Libra supports following platforms

• SunOS 4.1.x / Solaris 1.1.x
• SunOS 5.x / Solaris 2.x
• HP_UX 10.20 (HP700)
• Windows 95 or Windows NT (PC)

Furthermore, COPLAN for Libra is available for the last two versions of Libra: Version 6.0 and Version 6.1 (PC-Version 6.5). Please download the software for your platform and libra version and note the installation procedure.

Coplan for ADS Installation Procedure for HPUX and SunOS

• Download the COPLAN Software Package
• Login as superuser and check if the environment variable $HPEESOF_DIR is properly set to your ADS Installation directory.
• Uncompress the COPLAN Software Package:

  gunzip Package

• Untar the file to the ADS directory:

  tar xvf Package -C $HPEESOF_DIR

• Append the following line:

  + imst

  at the end of the two files $HPEESOF_DIR/config/de_sim.cfg and $HPEESOF_DIR/config/hpeesofsess.cfg
• Add the code lines delivered by the IMST to the file license.dat defined in $LM_LICENSE_FILE

• Download the COPLAN Software Package
• Start the Package. Make sure, that the installation directory of the Coplanar Library is the ADS installation directory (defined in the variable $HPEESOF_DIR).
• Append the following line:

  + imst

  at the end of the two files $HPEESOF_DIR/config/de_sim.cfg and $HPEESOF_DIR/config/hpeesofsess.cfg
• Add the code lines delivered by the IMST to the file license.dat defined in $LM_LICENSE_FILE

• Login as superuser and check if the environment variable $EESOF_DIR is properly set to your SeriesIV Installation directory.
• Copy/move the (downloaded) COPLAN Software Package into this $EESOF_DIR directory.

  or   cp Package $EESOF_DIR mv Package $EESOF_DIR

• Check and set the existence and the write permissions to the following directories:

  $EESOF_DIR/ael/libra $EESOF_DIR/lib/libra/symbols $EESOF_DIR/lib/libra/bitmaps $EESOF_DIR/bin $EESOF_DIR/tools $EESOF_DIR/config $EESOF_DIR/licenses/vendors $EESOF_DIR/examples

  Note ! The existing installation behind these directories won't be destroyed while the following installation phase.

• Uncompress the COPLAN Software Package:

  gunzip Package

• Untar the file:

  tar xvf Package

• Make a backup of the link "libra.bin" in §EESOF_DIR/bin (1.) and set the new link as follows (2.):

  (1. mv libra.bin libra.bin.orig)  2. ln -s ../tools/libra610Coplan2320N libra.bin

• Set the variable ARGUMENS_CPW_AEL in $EESOF_DIR/config/simframe_libra.cfg as follows:

• ARGUMENS_CPW_AEL= c_itemlib

• Run a the Libra command "library_setup" within your project directory and set the "Argumens CPW Element".

Coplan for Libra Installation Procedure for Windows 95 and Windows NT

• Before starting "coplan2320s_pc.exe" from the Coplan Software Package (Download or CD-ROM) make a backup of the original HP simulator "libra.exe":

  cd EESOF_DIR/bin copy libra.exe libra_orig.exe

• Start "coplan2320s_pc.exe".
  When asked by "coplan2320s_pc.exe" make sure, that the installation directory of the Coplanar Library is the same as the directory of the SeriesIV (defined in the variable EESOF_DIR).
• After a successful installation some system settings have to be made or modified:
  So call the SeriesIV Configuration Editor "wcfgedit.exe".
  ( Can either be found in the SeriesIV program group or in SeriesIV "bin"-directory )
• The SeriesIV variables "CIRCUIT_SIMULATOR_BIN" and "SIMULATOR_AEL" must now be modified using this SeriesIV Configuration Editor:

  Select menu "Tools -> Registry Editor ...", Below "Configuration" select "Registry" Below "Subkey" select "simframe_libra"   Below "Value" select "CIRCUIT_SIMULATOR_BIN" Below "Data:" instead of "libra.exe" enter: -> "libra65_coplan2320.exe" for Libra version 6.5 -> "libra66_coplan2320.exe" for Libra version 6.6 Click on "Apply" !   Below "Value" select "SIMULATOR_AEL" Below "Data:" append ";c_itemlib", -> New entry may look like: "libra;c_itemlib" Click on "Apply" !

  This settings causes the SeriesIV to call COPLAN library files in the startup phase.

• Exit SeriesIV Configuration Editor
• The system variables EESOF_DIR and LM_LICENSE_FILE have to be equal to the Libra environment (defined by the SeriesIV Configurations Editor). Add the system variable COPLAN_TABLE_PATH as follows and make sure, that TEMP is defined:
  

  Windows 95 "autoexec.bat" -- Check or add entries :

  SET EESOF_DIR=C:\SeriesIV SET LM_LICENSE_FILE=C:\SeriesIV\licenses\license.dat SET COPLAN_TABLE_PATH=C:\Users SET TEMP=C:\TEMP

  Windows NT configuration -- Check or add the same entries like on Windows 95:

  Select: "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" -> "System" -> "Environment"

  Restart Windows !

• Add the code lines delivered by the IMST to the file "license.dat" defined in LM_LICENSE_FILE (see previous step)
